It was a long 8 years in statewide politics, Governor Chris Christie tenure as the New Jersey Commander in Chief is over.
A once-promising political career, at one time, featured lofty, but seemingly attainable presidential run. This was lost somewhere on the roads of the George Washington Bridge.
The famous Frank Sinatra line from his classic hit "My Way" came to my mind this morning; "The end is near, but I did it My Way" is probably the best analogy to sum up the Christie era.
We can sit back and reflect on a disastrous 8 years, however, let us not forget Christie had an easy win in his 2013 re-election. Which was heavily supported by Statewide Democrats. Democrats were top back room deal makers with the Christie adminstration.
As Christie exited the Statehouse today, New Jersey residents should keep in my mind during his tenure who was able, ready, and willing to HELP him in achieving his record.
During both terms, the State Senate and Assembly were both controlled by the Democrats. So, as we cheer the end of a term limited Governor's political career, maybe it's time we actually start holding the State Democratic Party accountable for their own co conspirator actions during the Christie tenure.
State Dems are now in absolute power, in what is essentially a structurally bankrupt state.
Let's just remember - Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely.
